Hi, I’m Nicole—a special needs momma, brain injury survivor, and a woman confidently approaching her fifties with curiosity, resilience, and a healthy sense of humor intact.
Life has taught me to slow down and notice the good stuff, so you’ll often find me appreciating sunrises, sunsets, bare feet on sand or grass, and the quiet wisdom of animals. Otters, in particular, have my whole heart. (If you don’t understand why otters are magical, we may still be friends—but I’ll probably try to convert you.)
I’ve raised four incredible girls, two of whom I birthed and all of whom have shaped me into the human I am today. Motherhood has been my greatest teacher—especially the kind that requires patience, adaptability, advocacy, and deep love. Being a special needs mom has shown me how strong a heart can be, even on days when the brain needs a little extra grace.
I share my space with an orange-and-white cat who believes the world revolves around him, and a fish who played a surprisingly important role in my brain injury recovery. Healing, I’ve learned, doesn’t always come from where you expect—it can be quiet, steady, and swimming in a small tank nearby.
These days, I’m exploring a gluten-free lifestyle, with hopeful plans of eventually going dairy-free too (one step—and one label—at a time). I believe in progress over perfection, listening to your body, and finding joy wherever you can.
This space is a reflection of who I am: lived-in, hopeful, a little quirky, and rooted in appreciation for the small, meaningful moments that make life beautifully human.
Welcome—you’re glad you’re here, and so am I.
